Ace Humorist, BasketMouth to host TOP10MICS Concert this year

The year 2012 has no doubt been a good year for Bright Okpocha popularly known as Basketmouth. The Comedian, budding rapper and TV host has been unveiled by the organisers of one of the most talked about concerts of the year, TOP10MICS, Koga Entertainment as the host of the music concert due to hold on Friday, November 30, 2012 at the

The owner and presenter of the popular TV show, Big Friday Show will anchor the show this year. The maiden edition of the concert had foremost comedian, Ali Baba GCFR and Juliet of STV as the hosts. The event last year featured the likes of 2face, MI, P square, Duncan Mighty, Wizkid, Sir Shina Peters, Eldee, Femi Kuti, Obesere and Mocheddah and held at the famous Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS).
The Sociology and Anthropology graduate of the University of Benin got his career on track when his first stand-up comedy ended in a disaster because the crowd got irritated and booed him off the stage. Later that year (1999), he came back after a series of research on what brand of comedy could sell in UNIBEN; that was the genesis of his emergence into the world of stand-up comedy. His professional stand up act came into existence in the year 2001 and his big break came when he met Ali Baba, one of the industry’s finest and benchmark as far as the trade and art of comedy is concerned as many comedians often give credence to him as the person who introduced them to the money spinning industry.
BasketMouth is presently one of the brand ambassadors of telecomms giant, Globacom, his new TV show; Big Friday is also doing well and is attracting lots of positive remarks.
Anu Awoseyi, an official of Koga spoke on why the organisers chose him ‘’everybody knows how witty BasketMouth is, choosing him as the host of this year’s concert was a no-brainer. Ali Baba hosted that of last year, we wanted freshness that was why we chose BasketMouth, next year we would choose another’’.
